Applications for tower
Reliability starts from the ground up.
In wind turbine towers, every component must endure constant vibration, extreme weather, and the test of time. Vink Plast delivers advanced plastic materials that combine low weight, corrosion resistance, and proven strength — ensuring safer installations, reduced maintenance, and longer service life.
From cable management and interior platforms to protective linings and structural components, our tailor-made solutions help optimize tower performance and support sustainable energy generation for decades to come.
Pipes for cables
The tower of a wind turbine contains cables from top to bottom to lead the power from the wind turbine and connect it to the grid. These cables need to be held together and kept in order.
Vink Plast manufactures cable systems and cable clamps to keep the cables secure and accessible. Wind turbines are getting increasingly taller, and thus having a low-weight and low-cost solution to handle the many meters of cables is a huge benefit, as well as being able to easily access the cables.
We have the option to solve the task using regenerated PP, which has a lower CO2 impact.

Customer
requirements:
- PP
- Regenerated PP
Our material recommendation:
- PA66 GF30 (Nylon) – Ertalon
- Technical laminates
Our production recommendation
- Extrusion
- Site specific packaging and delivery where the tower is build
Platform floor in tower
There are platforms for different purposes in the wind turbine tower, for example platforms used for service decks. Fiberglass is an excellent light-weight material for this purpose.
The platform floor could also be produced in alu diamond plates of 7-9 mm thickness. However during assembly, the employee cannot lift more than 20 kg, and plates therefore have to be small for the areas where a crane cannot reach. Diamond plates is a heavy solution.
Alternatively, you can use fiberglass sheets, which is very light-weight and cost less per square meters. The assembly cost is also lower, due to bigger plates and less support needed depending on the fibercomposite thickness.

Customer
requirements:
- Fire retardant
- Anti-skid surface
- Low cost
Our material recommendation:
- Honeycomb fiberglass panels
- Fiberglas panels cast or pultruders
Our production recommendation
- Site specific packaging and delivery where the tower is build
Fence platform
In the area around the elevator and crane shaft, there are aluminum fences on the platform. The aluminium fences are expensive and heavy to install. Light and stiff composite plates can be used as a cost-efficient alternative.
Depending on size and strength different materials can be selected. Several of these composites can be bent just like aluminum and are easy to screw or bolt in.

Customer
requirements:
