APPLICATIONS COOLING
Low pressure manifold
Manifolds are traditionally made by a block of steel or aluminum, but blocks in technical plastics are a cost-effective choice for low pressure applications below temperatures of around 50°C as it is both much faster to produce and the material is lower cost. In a wind turbine, a manifold may be used for lubricant or coolant.
Tanks for coolant
Wind turbines uses a lot of small and big tanks for holding coolant and oil. The tanks are also used to catch oil when draining parts for service or in case of non-control discharge of liquids like oil and cooling liquids. For
this purpose, plastic is a good material choice and it is easy to manufacture tanks for tight spaces where a square box does not fit.
Pipe holder
Pipes in the turbine can have many different sizes and material types both soft and hard materials. Pipe holders have the basic function to hold the pipes to correct place and protect against wear from vibration.
There are a lot of standard products but sometime a custom-made piece makes sense when adding assembly and service to the calculation.
